Hello readers and hello February! After what felt like the longest month in history, I’m finding it really refreshing to welcome a brand new chapter. Personally, I’m not a big fan of January, so I was eagerly anticipating February 1st.
“Welcome to February. Every day we get a few more minutes of sunlight. Snowdrops nod in encouragement and the daffodils remind us the rebirth of spring is coming. Much of Nature is still sleeping, it’s ok for you to also bide your time. Be gentle.”
I love this quote by @SuzyReading (instagram)

The supermarkets and shops are now filled with symbols of love, like hearts, and the vivid colours of spring flowers, bringing a touch of warmth to the atmosphere. I’ve already treated myself to some spring tulips and hyacinths (above on the mantel) and was gifted these stunning blooms (below) from 123 Flowers.

I’ve been lighting all my candles, my bioethanol log burner, and tabletop fire* to add brightness to my days. The mini globe fairy lights* around my shelves and French doors receive much appreciation on my social channels. The presence of pretty sparkly lights and the gentle glow of candles truly uplift my mood.
“But it’s still winter,” I hear you exclaim. I am very well aware of this, (brrrr) but my favourite season can’t arrive soon enough, and I’m counting down the days until it’s officially spring (46 in case you’re wondering).
I posted this reel to instagram this morning, it talks about the importance of self-care, the importance of taking time for yourself to re-charge. After all, you can’t drink from an empty cup.
This weekend, I’ve scheduled a home-spa pamper bath, complete with a face mask and a long, soothing soak – much needed, indeed. I also plan to dedicate some time for myself: a leisurely walk with my little dog, enjoying a coffee while delving into a good book, painting my toenails, and perhaps indulging in more spring flowers as a treat.

I’ve been gradually shifting my decor towards more of a Spring vibe, having snagged these gingham cushion covers from Primark a few weeks ago. However, I’m eager to revisit the homeware department very soon. Take a glance at this gorgeous reel by @__itslucy__ below – it showcases so many beautiful pieces that just exude joy.
So, whatever you’re doing today, make sure you take some time for you.
I hope you enjoyed this little Spring post, happy Friday.
Until next time, Amy x
