After a recent holiday to Crete, I’m crushing on blue BIG time. Walking the pretty streets of the most quaint little fishing village we discovered, Plaka, was like being in a movie set.
Baby blue, teal, cornflower, turquoise, aqua call them what you will, shades of blue are sure to make you feel relaxed and calm. Seeing them set against the stunning hues of the Agean sea had me planning a blue feature wall for my bedroom pronto.
I’ve been using accents of blue in my home for a while now, it all started with my blue front door makeover. Every time I return home and walk up to my little Victorian terrace I get a little pang, I couldn’t have chosen a more perfect shade!
Blankets, throws and cushions are a great way to add colour to a room before going all out and painting a wall or buying an investment piece such as a sofa. I love the way this tassle-edged blanket brings out the background of the Frida painting on my wall. The sumptuous inky velvet throw on my bed changes colour the light, adding depth and texture to my bedroom.
